Indigenous Collection All-in-one Sunsuit | 'Yaunati'
Kids Aboriginal Swimwear
The endangered loggerhead turtle is the star of this amazing artwork your kids can wear!
Painted by 17yr old contemporary artist Jesse Sutton the artwork is called
“Yaunati” which means GROW BIG in the Kalkadoon language.
When a mother turtle lays her eggs she is very lucky as she is the only one in a thousand of her friends and family that made it to adulthood which is 30 years old!
From the time the turtles hatch they face immense danger from foxes, birds, sharks, fishing nets and so on.
The mother turtle always returns to the place of her birth to lay her eggs which is why these special places need to be looked after.
Jesse's painting depicts plentiful small turtles emerging into the ocean to start their lives. Sadly over time their numbers drop rapidly until only one returns to start her family.
The spirit trails link all the turtles together as without all of them none would survive to Yaunati.
This is a unique collaboration and we hope you love this swimsuit as much as we do! It's bold, visible and perfect for spotting fast moving kids!
